Agape Hood
About Agape Hood

A family of missionary servants

Agape is a congregation in need of the Holy Spirit’s power, radically dependent on the Gospel, and formed by Jesus. We are soldiers, spouses, kids, veterans, and civilians who gather at Main Post Chapel and scatter across Fort Hood on mission.

The church exists by mission, just as a fire exists by burning.
Emil Brunner

Jesus. Mission. Community.

Three words shape everything we do.

Jesus

Our story is initiated, built, and led by Jesus. We gather to worship Him, to hear His word, and to be formed into His likeness.

Mission

The Spirit empowers the church and sends it out. We go to the barracks, the motor pools, the neighborhoods, and the schools of Fort Hood with the good news of Jesus.

Community

We follow Jesus together. Missional communities meet across post so that no one has to walk with God alone.

Our story

Agape began as a chapel congregation at Fort Hood and grew into a church family that reaches across the installation.

We meet at Main Post Chapel as part of the Fort Hood chapel community. Many of our people serve in units across III Armored Corps, and many more are the families who serve alongside them.

Military life means constant change. People arrive, deploy, and move on. We want every person who passes through Agape to leave knowing Jesus better and ready to carry the mission to their next duty station.
